Privacy notice

Effective November 11, 2026

HerFutureReady respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Who is responsible

Mahsa Rezaei, founder of HerFutureReady, is responsible for protecting your personal information. You can reach her at hello@herfutureready.com.

What we collect

  • Membership applications: your name, email, city or region, what you tell us about the change you’re navigating and what you’d like to shape, and whether you’d like a supported seat.
  • Conference updates and newsletter sign-ups: your name, email, how you’d like to take part, and whether you’d like information about childcare.
  • Payments: the membership fee is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid, but we never see or store your card details.
  • Call bookings: employers who book a call through Google Calendar share their name, email and organization.
  • Website use: our website host collects basic statistics such as pages visited, and may use cookies to keep the site working.

Why we collect it

To review your application, run the community and its events, process your fee, and send you the updates you asked for. We only collect what we need for these purposes and won’t use your information for anything else without asking you first.

Emails from us

We send news and updates only if you opt in. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. We’ll still send messages you need about your application or membership.

Sharing with employers

We never share your information with employers or partners without your express, opt-in consent, given separately each time. You can withdraw that consent at any time. We don’t sell personal information. Requests for a supported seat stay private and are never shared.

Service providers and storage

We use trusted service providers to run HerFutureReady: WordPress.com (website and forms), Stripe (payments) and Google Workspace (email and calendar). They may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We choose providers with strong security and only share what they need to provide their service.

How long we keep it

  • Applications that aren’t accepted: deleted 12 months after the intake closes.
  • Member information: kept during your membership and for 2 years after it ends, so alumni can stay involved, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Payment records: kept as long as Canadian tax law requires.
  • Newsletter and conference sign-ups: kept until you unsubscribe.

Keeping it safe

Only the HerFutureReady team can see applications and member information. If a privacy breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we’ll tell you and the appropriate privacy authorities as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent, by writing to hello@herfutureready.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

HerFutureReady is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this notice

If we make important changes, we’ll update the date above and let members know by email.
